Business Discovery Explores What We Like to EAT

Real Food Company EAT Uses QlikView Business Discovery for Real-Time Insight into Consumer Appetite; Extends to Field for Mobile Discovery

Radnor, PA - 29 September 2011

QlikTech, (NASDAQ: QLIK) a leader in Business Discovery – user-driven Business Intelligence (BI), today announced that real food company EAT is deploying the QlikView Business Discovery platform to help EAT management make fast, informed decisions in real-time by exploring and better understanding product, store and staff performance and consumer purchasing behaviors.

EAT is one of the most successful high street food retailers across London with over 100 stores. Selling a range of fresh foods and drink, the chain makes its food in store every day. As a fast-growing company, EAT needed a next-generation business intelligence solution to help spot growth opportunities and gain deeper insight into the business. QlikView will be used by EAT to help it succeed in a highly competitive and fast-changing industry.

Rebbeca Braverman, Senior Director Global Market Development - CP, Retail & Distribution at QlikTech says: "EAT selected QlikView to be used by managers across all its departments (IT, human resources, manufacturing and food preparation or in-store) to aid its business discovery process."

QlikView’s powerful in-memory search functionality will help EAT manipulate data and carry out basket analysis to make informed decisions on product development and sales – for example, a latte and croissant could be more profitable than a standalone product. QlikView’s in-memory data storage allows for remote access to information via any browser or device and EAT will be equipping its field workers with Windows Tablets so they can use QlikView to get the latest business information at their fingertips anywhere at any time.

"We’re looking forward to having access to a mature, scalable and flexible business intelligence system with information that is always up-to-date," comments Rene Batsford, Head of IT at EAT. "QlikView gives us access to instant, relevant data that is consistent across the business, so all managers are in unison. Access to this information and insight into product, store and employee performance also means best practice examples can be replicated across the business. Our employees are amazed at what we have already learnt using QlikView – it’s helped us discover opportunities that we never even considered before. We can’t wait to start using it on a daily basis."

Sean Farrington, RVP Northern Europe & MD UK & Ireland at QlikTech continues, "EAT is one of the UK’s most well-known food chains, and we’re thrilled to be able to provide it with the intelligence to build on its success to date. EAT is well-positioned to grow even further as an innovative company that embraces new ways of working such as using tablets for increased mobility and information management."
